Park Yong -in, president of Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor Company, etc.

Park Yong-in, president of Samsung Electronics' system LSI business, said it is discussing ways to cooperate with automotive companies with Hyundai Motor Company.

Park responded to the question of asking about the progress of the semiconductor cooperation with Hyundai Motor at the 15th Semiconductor Day Ceremony held at the InterContinental Seoul CODEX Hotel in Samsung-dong, Seoul on the 27th.

Park said, We are discussing ways to cooperate with all automakers, not one or two companies.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, Korea Automotive Research Institute, and Korea Electronics Technology Research Institute signed an agreement to strengthen solidarity and cooperation between demand and supply of semiconductors for vehicles at Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek Campus in May last year. The intention is to solve the procurement of car semiconductor in Korea.

Park said, The core of electric and autonomous vehicles is the camera. Samsung Electronics is strong for the camera. We are mass-producing products for camera products that are so high that other companies cannot imitate, he said. We are preparing a lot with image sensors.

Samsung Electronics unveiled the image sensor 'Ispell HP3' with 200 million pixels of 0.56 micrometers (km, 1 millionth). Pixel size is reduced by 12% from existing products. HP3 supports 30 frames 8K ultra-high resolution and 120 frames 4K high resolution video, along with autofocus. In a mixture of a large difference in illuminance between bright and dark places, three frames with different exposure times provide clean images.

Samsung has decided to mass-produce Ispell HP3 from this year. In 2019, the company plans to launch 100 million pixel image sensors for the first time in the industry, and the 200 million pixel image sensors will be launched for the first time in the industry.

Samsung Electronics decided to release a high pixel image sensor, as seen by human eyes. Since the fourth industrial revolutionary object learns and judges like a person, the system semiconductor acts as a human brain, heart, nerves, and eyes.

Park emphasized, If the era of electric cars is the semiconductor, will it play a lot of roles in automobiles? We are concentrating all resources for the bigger future, he added. We are preparing for a semiconductor to change the world.
